Signs to look for
When an older home needs rewiring
Many homes in older suburbs were wired decades ago and extended over the years. Warning signs include warm or discoloured plugs and switches, flickering lights, breakers that trip under normal use, a burning smell and cloth-insulated or brittle cables.
We test insulation and earth continuity circuit by circuit, then tell you which circuits need rewiring and which are fine, so the work goes where it is actually needed.

We find the real fault
Your electrician tests properly, finds the real cause and explains it in plain language.

The work is done properly and safely to SANS 10142, the national wiring standard, and your home is left neat.

How do I know if my house needs rewiring?
Warm plugs, flickering lights, frequent tripping, a burning smell or cloth-covered wiring are all signs. We test the installation and tell you what actually needs doing.
Do I have to rewire the whole house?
Not always. We test each circuit and replace only the ones that need it.
How long does rewiring take?
It depends on the size of the house and how many circuits need replacing. We tell you how long the power will be off before we start.
Do you upgrade old fuse boards?
Yes. We replace old boards with modern DB boards with earth leakage protection. See our DB board page.
