Tripping & earth leakage
Breaker or earth leakage that won’t stay up? We test circuit by circuit to find the cause instead of guessing.
Find out moreAn old, overloaded or damaged distribution board is more than an inconvenience. We install new DB boards, upgrade old ones and add circuits for kitchens, extensions, geysers and backup power, wired neatly, labelled and tested.

Burning smell or hot breakers? Switch off the main switch if it is safe to do so and call an electrician. Don’t keep using a board that is overheating.

Complete new boards for new builds, extensions and old installations, with space for future circuits.
We replace old fuses and worn breakers, add an earth leakage unit and tidy unsafe wiring.
Dedicated circuits for geysers, air conditioners, pool pumps and workshops.
Surge arrestors at the board to help protect appliances from lightning and supply surges.
Essential circuits wired so an inverter runs the right loads during load shedding.
Every breaker labelled and every circuit tested before we switch the power back on.
We start by looking at the existing board and testing the circuits, so we know exactly what we are working with. Then we explain what needs replacing and what can stay, so you know exactly what will be done before we start.
On the day, the power is switched off while the board is changed. We tell you beforehand roughly how long it will be off, test every circuit before we switch back on, and label the board so you know what each breaker does.
All work is done to SANS 10142, the national standard for wiring South African homes and businesses.
Can’t see your question? Call 012 383 2011 and ask the electrician directly.
Warning signs are old screw-in fuses, no earth leakage unit, breakers that trip often, buzzing or a burning smell at the board, or a renovation that adds new circuits. We inspect your board and tell you what it needs.
It depends on the size of the board and the condition of the wiring. We tell you how long the power will be off before we start.
Yes. An earth leakage unit protects people against electric shock. If your board doesn’t have one, it should be upgraded.
Yes. We can split essential circuits so your inverter runs lights, plugs and Wi-Fi without trying to power the geyser.
