Tripping & earth leakage
Breaker or earth leakage that won’t stay up? We test circuit by circuit to find the cause instead of guessing.
Find out moreA pump that trips the board, won’t start or keeps burning out usually has an electrical cause. We test the circuit, find the real fault and wire pumps safely, with the right protection for wet areas.

Pool and borehole pumps run outdoors, in damp places and often on long cable runs, so their circuits take strain. Water in a connection, a perished cable, a failing pump motor or a wrongly sized breaker can all trip the earth leakage or stop the pump.
We test the cable, the connections, the isolator and the pump motor to find which one is at fault, so you don’t replace a pump that only needed a new connection.

We find whether it is the pump, the cable or a connection that is leaking to earth.
Supply cables, control boxes and isolators for borehole pumps, tested and repaired.
Dedicated circuits with earth leakage protection and weatherproof isolators.
Pool pump timers and pump controls wired and set up correctly.
Damaged or perished cables to the pump house replaced with the right cable for the job.
Advice on which pumps can run on an inverter and how to connect them safely.

Your electrician tests properly, finds the real cause and explains it in plain language.
The work is done properly and safely to SANS 10142, the national wiring standard, and your home is left neat.

Usually water in a connection, a damaged supply cable or a fault in the pump motor. We test each part to find which one, then repair it.
We test the electrical side first. If the cable, connections and isolator are fine and the motor tests faulty, we tell you so you can have the pump itself repaired or replaced.
It should have its own protected circuit with earth leakage protection and a weatherproof isolator near the pump, wired to SANS 10142.
Some can, depending on the pump and the inverter size. Pumps draw a lot of power when they start, so we check before connecting one. See our solar and backup page.
