Pretoria & CenturionGeyser electrical repairs

Cold showers, a geyser that trips the board or hot water that runs out too quickly usually come down to the element, the thermostat or the wiring. We test the geyser circuit, find the faulty part and replace it.

Common faults

Why your geyser isn’t heating

  • Burnt-out element: no hot water at all, or the earth leakage trips when the geyser switches on
  • Failed thermostat: water too hot, not hot enough, or no heating at all
  • Damaged isolator or wiring: burnt connections at the isolator or in the roof
  • Geyser breaker tripping: often a leaking element or a fault on the circuit
  • Timer or control faults: the geyser doesn’t switch on when it should

Leaking or burst geyser? Switch off the geyser breaker at the DB board, close the cold water supply to the geyser and call a plumber. Once the plumbing is fixed, we can test the element and wiring before the power goes back on.

Geyser FAQs

Can’t see your question? Call 012 383 2011 and ask the electrician directly.

Why is my geyser not heating?

Most often a burnt-out element or a failed thermostat. A tripped geyser breaker or a damaged isolator can also stop it heating. We test each part to find which one.

Why does my geyser trip the earth leakage?

A leaking or damaged element is the usual cause. We test the element and replace it if it has failed.

Do you fix burst geysers?

We handle the electrical side: elements, thermostats, isolators and wiring. For a burst or leaking geyser you need a plumber first.

Is it safe to switch my geyser back on after it tripped?

If it trips again straight away, leave it off and have it tested. Repeated tripping usually means a fault in the element or wiring.
