Zwartkop sits on a cluster of hills south-west of Centurion Lake, between the N14 to the west and the N1 to the south-east. It takes its name from the original Zwartkop farm, which the Erasmus family bought in 1841, and most of the suburb was developed from the mid-1980s, at the same time as Centurion Mall.
